As a firm of solicitors in Leicestershire, we work closely with Charities and non-profit organisations in the furtherance of legal understanding for specific communities.
Liz Woodward, a Wills & Probate Executive based in the Josiah Hincks Blaby office, has recently written a short article for the Leicestershire Autistic Society’s Newsletter (which can be found here: http://www.leicestershireautism.org.uk/resources/Linkup+June+2013.pdf). The Leicestershire Autistic Society provide support, information and advice to families dealing with Autism in Leicestershire.
As Liz says:
“When a child reaches the age of 19 they are expected to take responsibility for their own finances, education and welfare. Many young adults with autism are bright and intelligent people but with all that intelligence and ability they can struggle with the everyday routine tasks and may need support of their parents/carers with some if not all aspects of daily life.”
This includes creating Lasting Power of Attorney’s for young adults with Autism. Liz is a specialist in dealing with clients with Autism and their families, to ensure they fully understand the options available to them and how best to deal with the situations they are facing.
If you have autism or you have a family member that is Autistic or has some other difficulties with the things others take for granted, then get in touch with Liz or the Wills specialist at the Josiah Hincks office local to you, for an initial consultation.
